Upon receiving the recommendation of the Department of Planning and Development, the board may table the petition for a period of up to three months from the date of public hearing so as to allow the petitioner an opportunity to provide any further information deemed pertinent by the board or so as to allow the board members an opportunity to view the site or similar situations already in existence if a comparison is warranted in accordance with the guidelines set forth in section 12.56.110 or consider the conditions for allowing the appeal or variance.
